Nivea Nourishing Body Milk Review (For Very Dry Skin)

02:55

As winter is approaching, or maybe have approached in some parts of the world, I thought it would be appropriate to review a few body lotions on the blog. Recently, I wrote a blog post on how to treat dry skin to help the readers. I have a lot more body lotion and moisturizer reviews coming soon. I have been trying a lot of moisturizers lately.

If you want, you may read my previous blog post on how to cure dry skin & best moisturizers for dry skin. My skin is always very dry, be it summers or winters. But in winters, it takes a massive turn and becomes so much more dry. 😅

So,  I have to use many lotions and moisturizers to keep my skin hydrated even though I am lazy to apply body lotions every day. It takes a lot of time, anyone with me, here?! 😂
I have been using this body lotion for a month or two now because I thought it would be good to prepare my skin for the rough winter time coming. Pre-prepping your skin is actually a thing, if you keep it hydrated, it wouldn't crack during the winter time. I'm experiencing it.

What the product claims?

Ingredients:

Aqua, Paraffinum Liquidum, Isohexadecane, Glycerin, Isopropyl Palmitate, Cera Microcristallina, PEG-40 Sorbitan Perisostearate, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Glyceryl Glucoside, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Maris Sal, Magnesium Sulfate, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Linalool , Limonene, Benzyl Alcohol, Geraniol, Citronellol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Benzyl Salicylate, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Alpha-Isomethyl Lonone, Hydroxycitronellal, Hexyl Cinnamal, Parfum

Price:

Rs. 236 for 400ml

Packaging:

The nivea nourishing body milk comes in a large blue coloured plastic bottle with a pump on the top. I really like lotions that have a pump on the bottle because that makes it so much easier to use. It is definitely not travel-friendly since it is huge and second it has a pump. But, I guess it comes without a pump too so that would be good for travel if you really like to carry this lotion. Overall, the packaging is nothing special, it's just how a typical body lotion bottle should be- nice and sturdy.

Texture of the body milk:

It is milky, creamy and white in colour. It has runny consistency which makes the application a lot easier.

Before

After

What I like about the nivea nourishing body milk:

  • It is not very thick, hence it is easy to apply.
  • Gets absorbed by the skin very quickly.
  • Not very overwhelming fragrance. Has a typical nivea cream fragrance.
  • The fragrance stays for an hour after application.
  • Makes skin soft and supple instantly.
  • Repairs dry skin immediately but that repair effect doesn't last very long, although regular use might help to repair dry skin to some extent.
  • Prevents skin from cracking in cold weather.
  • Doesn't make the skin oily at all.
  • Fragrance lingers on the skin for about an hour.
  • Affordable for a lotion which actually works.
  • Travel-friendly only if you buy the bottle without the pump, which is available in the market.

What I don't like about the nivea nourishing body milk:

  • Doesn't hydrate the skin for a long time, you have to re-apply it many times throughout a day.
  • Have to use huge amounts of it at a time.
  • It claims to give 24-hour long nourishment and hydration but honestly, the hydration lasts for 5 to 6 hours only which is not bad but not what they claim. False advertisement right there.
  • Has too many chemicals in it.
